5 Artists Made [more] Famous By Prince Songs

1. Sinéad O'Connor - "Nothing Compares 2 U"

Released in 1990, this first and only hit for Sinéad O'Connor made her a household name.  

2. Chaka Khan - "I Feel For You"

While Chaka Khan was a wildly successful R&B artist in the 1970's, the 1984 hit "I Feel For You" resurrected her career.  Prince originally wrote and released the song for his  1979 self-titled album Prince. 

3.  Alicia Keys - "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore"

Alicia Keys is a respected musician and songwriter in her own right, but she received a boost in her career when she covered "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore." This song was originally released as the B-Side track on Prince's 1982 hit "1999."

4. The Bangles - "Manic Monday" 

This 80's girl pop group did not make it big until Prince shared his talents with "Manic Monday." The Bangles went on to release multiple hit songs afterwards. 

5. Sheila E - "Glamorous Life"

This song was released in 1984 and it was the only major hit for Sheila E.  She went on to become one of the most respected percussionists in the music industry.  Occasionally, you can spot her as part of the band on major awards shows
